One sunny morning, Robinson Crusoe saw something strange on the sand—a human footprint. His heart beat fast. "Is someone watching me?" He hid in his tent for three days. Then, he built a strong fence around his home using sharp sticks and ropes.
Years later, he heard shouts near the shore. Some men were running after a young man. Robinson Crusoe shot his gun into the air to scare them. The man ran to Robinson. Robinson named him Friday because it was the day that Robinson saved his life. Friday helped Robinson fish with wooden spears and taught him to find sweet fruits. They built a boat by cutting down a tree and burning its centre. Every day, Friday learnt English words like "fire" "friend" and "home".
One afternoon, smoke rose far out at sea. A ship! Robinson Crusoe lit a big fire and waved his shirt. "HELP!" he shouted. After 28 years, Robinson Crusoe was going home!
