Parents don't want a pet at home for a number of reasons, such as there's just a lot of work to do to keep pets clean, healthy and happy. Before you ask for keeping a pet, plan out your words and actions with the following tips.
Look for information about how to look after the kind of pet you want. The more you know about the pet, the more likely your parents may agree. Changing your talking ways helps a lot. For example, change your words “Mum/Dad, a cat is so cute” into “Cats are easier to look after than dogs. They are smaller and won't smell bad in the house”. Act like a mature (成熟的) one at home. You can try to finish your homework carefully in time, do chores as possible as you can, and keep the home clean. Last but not least, find out the reason why they don't let you have a pet.
