Some monkeys are playing in a tree near a well (水井). Suddenly a little monkey cries, "Look,
the moon has dropped (落下) into the water!" "Get it out. Hurry!" says the old monkey. The little
monkey hangs from the tree by his tail. Then each monkey hangs from a monkey by legs. At last they
get to the water, but they cannot scoop up the moon. Another little monkey finds half a gourd (葫芦)
to scoop up the moon. Aha! He gets the moon in the gourd. At that time all the monkeys come to see
the moon. But the gourd drops and the moon is broken. They come down from the tree sadly. But
when they look up they find that the moon is still high up in the sky, shining brightly.

Danny is a little pig. He wants to leave home to see the world outside.
It's a sunny day. Danny goes away when his parents are sleeping. On his way he meets an
elephant, a peacock and a rabbit. At last, he gets to a lake. He looks at his reflection in the water and
says, "I wish I could have the long nose of the elephant, the beautiful tail of the peacock and the two
ears of the rabbit." After a while, Danny's wish comes true. He runs back home excitedly.
But his parents can't recognize (认出) Danny, "Go away. You're not our son."
Danny goes to the lake again. "I just want to be a pig," he says sadly. Danny waits and waits. He
turns into a pig again.
Danny runs back home. His parents hug him and say, "This is our lovely baby."
