六、新语篇 凿壁借光 阅读短文,完成下列各题。
Long ago, in ancient China, there was a boy named Kuang Heng. He was very poor but loved reading books. Kuang Heng’s family could not afford oil for a lamp(灯), so he could not read at night.
One evening, Kuang Heng saw his neighbour’s house shining brightly because they had a lamp. He thought, “Could I read by their light?” But he knew he could not ask to borrow their lamp.
Then, Kuang Heng had a clever idea. He took a small knife and made a small hole in the wall between his house and his neighbour’s house. The light from the neighbour’s lamp shone through the hole into Kuang Heng’s room. Now, he could read at night too!
Kuang Heng worked very hard every day. He read books during the day and used the borrowed light to study at night. Because of his hard work, Kuang Heng became a great scholar (学者) and served as an important official(官员) in the government later.
