I met an interesting old man on a Saturday morning when the brothers from my host family played soccer with other children.
Bronson and Troy went to the same school as me. They were in the school soccer team. Every weekend, they had games with teams from other schools.
The soccer field was near our school. There were at least 100 people watching the game. Most of them were parents and friends of the players.
Our team wore blue and the other team wore red. The game began. As I watched the game, an old man next to me said hello to me.
“Bernard(the father of my host family) was a champion,” he said.
Bernard did not look strong, so I was surprised to hear that he was a champion. “Oh, he was the champion of a beer-drinking competition! He drank the most beer and became the winner,” the old man said cheerfully.
Later I found out that the old man was a teacher in my school. And he loved to tell funny jokes.
The game lasted for an hour. At last, we lost the game. But we all had fun.
