(2025·安徽合肥期末)My grandma was a great old lady. When I was 10 years old, she left her farm and came to stay with us in the town. For the first few months, Grandma felt sad. She missed the peace of life in the countryside.
When the warm spring came, Grandma announced(宣布) that she was going to plant a small garden. When my father said that we had no need to grow food, she answered, “I know, but I have always grown a garden on my farm. And I am sure that I'm going to plant one here.” Then, Grandma asked me if I would help her and I happily agreed.
In the early spring, she taught me how to start small seeds in boxes inside. I carefully watered them every day. Soon, little green leaves came out. When the days got warm, we moved the seedlings(秧苗) to the small garden. After that, Grandma and I stood by and looked happily at the newly planted garden.
“In a month, we will have fresh carrots to eat,” said Grandma happily. “And a few weeks after that, we will have plenty of fresh vegetables.” Of course, just like what my father said, we did not need the food from Grandma's garden...
When autumn arrived, we got plenty of the food. Grandma made sure we always had something fresh to eat.
Now I'm living on my own, and I still remember those nice meals with fresh vegetables and our happiness.
