Much of the music we listen to today is a mixture of styles from different 1 (country) and time periods. Traditional or folk music has been collected for years. Younger generations are often praised by elders for collecting traditional music when they learn these songs from them in 2 (they) spare time.
Researchers see music as an important part of history. They are expecting 3 traditional and older kinds of music won't gradually disappear.

A group of British students in London are visiting Yangguang Junior High School.
“I was very nervous at first,” says Sarah. “1 , my host(主人) family are really friendly. I’m really thankful that they let me stay in their home. I love Chinese food and enjoy every meal with them. I can use chopsticks now, and I can speak a little Chinese!”
The students spend the weekdays 2 (study) with Chinese students. At weekends, they go on tours with their host families around Beijing and visit places of interest, 3 the Summer Palace and the National Museum.
“I watched videos about the Great Wall before, but seeing it in person is truly 4 unforgettable experience!” says Lisa. “The wall snakes its way across Northern China for over 6,000 kilometres. The Great Wall is one of the most amazing 5 (wonder) in human history!”
The students also spend time learning about Chinese culture. They get to try different things by 6 (them). “It was a fantastic experience for me,” says Eric. “The teachers 7 (introduce) Chinese paintings to us. We dipped(蘸) the brush in black ink, and painted on a special kind of paper called Xuan paper. The way of painting is much 8 (interest) than that in my Art class back home. I haven’t reached 9 (successful) yet, but I’ll keep trying.”
“I have many new friends now,” says Sarah. “I plan to keep in touch with them when I return home. We’ll meet soon because they will come over to the UK for the 10 (two) part of the exchange next month. I can’t wait!”
