Hank is clever and careful about his work. Chip is artistic and takes chances with his projects. Hank likes Chip. But when their teacher asked them to work on a book report together, Hank was unhappy. “I think we should do the book report like a show,” Chip said. He was very excited to work with Hank because Hank always got good grades.
“But it is not a show,” Hank reminded him. “It is a book report. We have to write it down.”
“We will write it down,” Chip said. “But instead of reading it in front of the class, we will act it out! We can present the book report like it’s a play. Or maybe we can sing it!”
Hank did not want to sing his book report. That evening he told his parents about Chip. “I do not want to work with Chip,” Hank said. “I don’t think Chip understands what a book report is.”
“Your teacher told you to work with Chip, and that is what you must do,” Hank’s father said. “This task is not just about reading a book and writing a report. It is about working with someone else to get a job done, even if you have differences.”
The next day, as soon as Hank walked into the classroom, Chip came up to him. “I have an idea!” Chip cried out. “Let’s draw our book report like a comic(连环画)!” Hank was not sure about this idea. But he remembered what his father said. “We will
