Summer in Russia is a special season. It’s warm in most places. But cities, such as Moscow, can be hot sometimes. People in the country don’t use air conditioners(空调) often.
Russians also cool off in other ways. They use their cities’ green spaces for
escaping the hot sun, eat ice creams or enjoy glasses of kvas, a Russian drink. Some people would like to drive to their summer dachas for their weekends. Dachas are on the side areas of cities and towns. Some Russians have gardens there. The dacha is a good place to get away from the heat and noise of the city. The family can relax and communicate with nature.
The weather in summer can be changeable(易变的), so it’s good to carry a small umbrella with you even on the sunniest days for sudden rain showers.
The sun in summer is not friendly at all. When you’re in Russia in summer, be sure to remember to wear sunblock(防晒霜). You may be easy to get hurt by the sun. Don’t forget to protect your ears, face and other areas of bare(裸露的) skin.
June, July and August are the most popular travel time. If you travel to Russia in summer, you will be likely doing lots of walking, so bring several pairs of comfortable shoes. Other summertime essentials(必需品) include a pair of sunglasses and a lightweight bag.
