Where does it come from?
Carl Bames, a farmer from the US, collected ancient(古代的) corn seeds and crossbred(杂交) a few kinds of corn of different colours. From this, he got the first seeds of Glass Gem Corn. With each year of planting, the corn got brighter and more colourful.

Each kernel(粒) is a different corn plant, so it has genes(基因) from many corn family members. These different genes give Glass Gem Corn different colours. People don't know what the corn will look like before they grow it.
What does it taste like?
Glass Gem Corn is very hard to chew(咀嚼). People often use it to make popcorn or flour. Sometimes they put the corn out in the air for about a week. When it's dry, people can keep it for many years.
