中英文姓名的差异

Hello! My name is Li Ming. My English friend is Amy Green. We find our names are very different.
In China, we put our family names first. My family name is Li. My given name is Ming. So, I am Li Ming. But in countries where people speak English, people put their family names last. Amy’s family name is Green. Her given name is Amy. So, she is Amy Green. This is the biggest difference（差异）.
Also, Chinese names are often short. Most have two or three characters（文字）. Parents often give children names with good meanings. For example, “Ming” means “bright”. English names can be longer. Many people have three names: a first name, a middle name, and a last name. Sometimes, parents give names just because they like the pronunciation—they don’t always have special meanings.
How we call our teachers is different too. In China, we say “Teacher Li”. But in English, they say “Mr Green” or “Ms/Mrs Green”.
Names are important and interesting. They tell us about different cultures（文化）. It’s good to know these differences and learn from each other’s cultures.
