It was a cold winter day. A puppy (小狗) was born. But it only had two healthy legs. Its owner (主人) thought it could not live, so he left the poor puppy on the street.
Luckily, Jude saw the puppy and helped it. She was a kind girl. She took the puppy to the vet (兽医) at once. The vet told her the weak puppy could not live. However, Jude did not give up. She took it home, took good care of it and gave it the name Faith (信心).
At first, Faith could only crawl (爬行) on the ground. This hurt its neck and chest (胸口). To help it grow stronger, Jude held a spoonful of peanut butter (一勺花生酱) above Faith’s nose. Faith loved peanut butter very much, so it tried hard to keep its head up to eat it. After some time, Faith learned to use its back legs. Then, Jude kept training (训练) Faith. Soon the puppy could walk freely on its two legs.
Faith lived a happy life. Jude often took it to cheer up sick soldiers (军人). They loved the brave puppy and gave it special gifts. Jude also planned to travel around the world with Faith, to bring warmth and hope to more people.
