Terry: I went to a Living Dreams concert last night. It was so wonderful!
Kevin: How much did you pay for the ticket?
Terry: It was worth every penny! Only 95 for the front row.Kevin: Are you out of your mind? A whole album only costs 25. In fact, you can listen to all their songs online for free.
Terry: But I think live music sounds better than a recording! There are lights, dancing ... Everyone is jumping up and down or moving to the music.
Kevin: You can just do that at home when you listen to music.
Terry: I know, but this is different. It’s like you’re part of the show. Everyone is singing along together, and sometimes the lead singer holds out the microphone to the audience, and we sing the song with him or her. I’m not just watching the concert—I’m taking part in it.
Kevin: I just think concerts are an easy way for bands or singers to make money. I’m sure that you didn’t hear a thing at the concert that you couldn’t hear on a record.
Terry: But there’s so much power and energy in a concert. The music feels more alive because it isn’t a recording. Living Dreams played longer, different versions of their songs. They even played some new songs I never heard.
Kevin: But for 95! That’s simply too much.
Terry: So, I guess you don’t want to go with me to next week’s concert by the Cold as Ice Cucumbers?
Kevin: No. I don’t think so. Hard pass.
