Life in an American high school
American high school life is quite different from our Chinese high school life. Here is something about it.
In American high school, students have many subjects like in China. (1) They usually choose some interesting subjects, such as Music, Art, PE and Computer Science. These make their school life more colourful.
(2) They usually have 6 classes a day. Each class lasts for 50 minutes. They have a break between classes, which is about 10 minutes. It's a short time, but students can still do something relaxing, like eating a snack, chatting with friends or just walking around.
After class, there are also all kinds of activities for students. (3) Some students join the school band. They practise playing music together and give shows at school parties. Some are interested in sport and they join the school sports teams. They take part in different competitions. (4) They learn how to take care of others and make the world a better place.
In American high school, teachers and students have a quite good relationship. (5) They are not only the ones who teach knowledge, but also the ones who can give students advice on their life. Students can ask teachers for help when they have problems, and teachers are always glad to help them.
