Every time my teacher asked me a question, I answered in a low voice and I would speak as little as possible. I stayed in my seat, feeling smaller and smaller, and waited quietly until the class was over.

I even started to think that maybe I was meant to just be shy and unnoticed. Everyone else would have fun, but not me.

Little by little, it started to have an effect (效果) and my classmates noticed me. Sometimes, they even replied to what I was saying. Suddenly, I felt I was part of the discussion. I finally felt accepted (被接纳). (4)

Finding my voice was hard, but it helped me find the strength (力量) to be the person I wanted to be. Now that I'm older, I can easily say this has made all the change.
