四、阅读理解

Situation A
Ugh! You have to speak in front of the class. NOW WHAT?
It may feel like the end of the world, but your classmates are excited to hear something from you. Take advantage of their good moods and consider it as a normal conversation rather than a formal speech. If possible, talk about what you love. Then everyone can hear about what you think is cool and why you like it. When it's one of their turns, you'll know what it feels like to talk in front of everyone, so you can offer lots of support and encouragement.
Situation B
Ack! ▲ NOW WHAT?
If you are feeling confused(困惑的), you're probably not the only one. Think of all the times someone else in class asked a question you were wondering about too! Instead of saying sorry for not knowing something, you can look at it as a chance to learn something. “I am confused about...” and “I don't understand” are great ways to start your question. And the more you practise asking, the more confident you'll feel doing it!
Situation C
Oops! You realize you forgot your homework. NOW WHAT?
Instead of making up an excuse, admit your mistake. Explain the situation to your teacher and say sorry. You may have to get a lower score, or you can bring it in the next day. Then come up with a system for next time. You can write down homework in a notebook, check it when you're done, and put it in your backpack as soon as you finish it.
Situation D
Oh no! You think your teacher doesn't like you. NOW WHAT?
Teachers can get so busy with planning lessons and managing classes that they don't always realize how they seem to others. If there's something you said or did that you think might have made your teacher angry, it's a good idea to bring it up and say sorry. If nothing like that happened, just show your teacher respect and kindness, and hopefully you'll get it back in return.
