It was a sunny Sunday noon. Vicky and Frank were cleaning the room. Suddenly, Frank found an old remote control.
"I wonder what it can control..." Frank pressed the button.
"No! Wait!" cried Vicky.
Too late. The world started to move quickly! The only thing they saw now was black and green... Opening their eyes, they found that they were on a deserted land! The place had no sign of people and there were nearly no trees.
"Where have we come?" Frank asked.
When Vicky turned her head, she saw a huge monster (怪物).
The monster ran after them. Soon both of them were so tired that they couldn't move any more. They looked closely at the monster. It was made of all kinds of rubbish.
"Please don't do anything to us!" cried Vicky.
"Ha... Ha... Ha..." laughed the monster. "I am the RUBBISH monster! And I was created by you—humans. You threw all your waste on the earth and polluted its beauty. And here I am, as the result of all your irresponsible (不负责任的) behaviour."
There was complete silence for a while.
"Yes!" said Frank. "We are
ashamed of our behaviour. And now we realize our mistake."
"Please leave us and let us go. We will not pollute the earth any more," said Vicky.
"That is not enough! I'm going to eat you alive!" cried the monster.
"Press the button, Frank! Now!" shouted Vicky.
For one second, they came back to the world of present.
"Is it a remote control of the time machine?" asked Frank.
"I don't know. But it was not the future I want to travel to!" said Vicky.
