五、阅读理解。
Good manners are important in our daily life. They help us build good relationships with others. Let me share some of my experiences.
Last month, I took the bus to school. There were many people on the bus, and an old lady got on at the next stop. No one stood up to give her a seat. I remembered my mum told me to be polite to the elderly, so I stood up and said, "Grandma, please take my seat. " The old lady thanked me with a smile. That made me feel happy.
Another time, I was talking with my friend in class when the teacher came in. I wanted to finish my sentence, so I kept talking. Later, the teacher talked to me after class. She said, "It's impolite to keep talking when someone else is about to speak. You should stop talking when I enter the classroom. " I felt sorry and promised to do better next time.
Last week, I went to a restaurant with my family. My little brother wanted to take a lot of food, but I told him, "We shouldn't waste food. Take only what you can eat. " He listened to me, and we finished all our food. The waiter praised us for not wasting food.
My parents often tell me, "Good manners are not just about saying 'please' and 'thank you'—they are about thinking of others. " I agree with them. Now, I always try to be polite: I queue when buying things, I don't talk loudly in public, and I help people in need. These small acts of good manners make my life better, and they also make others feel happy.
