“Hey, kiddos,” said Dad. “Why do you look so
grumpy?” “We were going to play with our new football,” said Tex. “Yeah,” said Indi. “But then it started raining super hard.” “Hm,” said Dad. “Sounds like this is the perfect weather for Rainball.” “Rainball?” said Tex and Indi together. “What’s Rainball?” “Come on,” said Dad. “I’ll show you how to play it.” “Okay, Indi,” called Dad. “Go out by the apple tree for a long pass (传球)!” “I’ve got it! I’ve got it!” Indi shouted as she splashed(溅着水花行走) and splashed through the puddles(水坑). “Okay, Tex!” called Dad. “Give that football a good, strong kick.” “Sure thing,” said Tex. He gave the ball a big kick, but then he slipped(滑) in the mud. “Whoops!” “No problem,” said Dad. “Falling down in the mud is half the fun of Rainball!”
Tex, Indi, and Dad were having so much fun playing Rainball that they didn’t notice when the rain stopped. “Wait,” said Indi, looking up. “The rain stopped.” And, just then, a big rainbow filled the sky! “Wow!” said Tex. “We got to play Rainball and see an amazing rainbow on the same day. Best day ever!”
