“Oh, it is 7:30! I am late!”
Ann jumps out of bed and puts on her clothes quickly. Then she goes to the kitchen, but no one is there.
“Dad is away on a trip, and he will come back next Monday. But where’s Mum?” Ann goes to Mum’s bedroom. Mum is still sleeping. Ann doesn’t want to wake her up.
Ann has some milk and two cakes for breakfast. Then she goes to the bus stop.
The bus doesn’t come right away. Ann looks at her watch. The bus is very late, but finally it comes. Ann gets on, but she is surprised (惊讶的) when she doesn’t see any of her friends.
“What is going on?” she asks herself. Suddenly, Ann thinks of something. She walks up to the bus driver and asks, “What day is it today?”
“Today is Saturday,” the driver says.
“Thank you,” Ann says. She gets off at the next stop. Then she hurries back home, laughing at herself.
