从句陈述事实用that;2. doubt后表不确定用if/whether;3. wonder后表不确定用if/whether;4. believe后陈述观点用that;5. be not sure后表不确定用if/whether;6. 有or构成whether...or...结构,只能用whether。
【解析】
本题考查宾语从句引导词的用法,具体解析如下:
1. 从句“homework is getting harder every year”是陈述客观事实,宾语从句中陈述事实时用that引导,故填that;
2. 动词doubt后接宾语从句,表“怀疑是否能跟上”,属于不确定的疑问,用if/whether引导,故填if/whether;
3. 动词wonder后接宾语从句,表“想知道父母是否理解压力”,属于不确定的疑问,用if/whether引导,故填if/whether;

阅读理解
Although many years have passed, I still clearly remember the last day of my middle school military training (军训). As I sat down on my bed, I heard a loud sound—the wooden bed board had broken in half. A wave of embarrassment (尴尬) washed over me as my roommates looked at me in shock.
I might have complained (抱怨) about the poor quality of the bed, but there was no doubt that I was too heavy. Standing 1.72 metres tall, I weighed 95 kilograms. Exercise had never been my thing. Also, I would often sit glued to my computer for a long time. To make matters worse, my parents kept piling meat-heavy dishes onto my plate, hoping I would grow strong. To their disappointment, all I could do was to make my chair suffer.
But perhaps more beds and chairs than ever are now at risk. According to a recent study, over 50% of adults and nearly 20% of school children (aged 6-17) in China are overweight or obese (肥胖的). Many people say they do not exercise often. They also seldom cook at home and therefore often eat out or rely on food delivery services.
But as I often tell my friends now, you don’t need too much time to stay fit. After breaking that poor bed, I decided to lose weight. As my busy work prevented me from regularly burning calories (卡路里) at the gym, I tried to stay active in my daily life. This habit has stayed with me. On some days, when I take the bus, I choose to get off one stop early and walk the rest of the way. At weekends, I usually stay busy with a good clean-up at home and a trip to the grocery (食品杂货) store. This, along with a healthier diet, has worked for me. I’m now 21 kilograms lighter than I was in middle school. Some of my health problems have been solved too.
You certainly don’t have to break a bed to start your fitness journey. To get into a healthy habit, it’s better to act sooner than later.
