Bullying is hurting someone on purpose, over and over again. It can happen face to face with actions or with words, or online through a phone, tablet or computer. It can happen to anyone, anywhere and at any time.
Some bullying behaviours might include:
• Name-calling • Pushing • Hitting • Ignoring (无视) someone
• Purposely embarrassing (使尴尬) someone • Leaving someone out
Bullying can cause people to:
• Feel worried, upset or hurt • Feel uncomfortable
• Have difficulties making and keeping friends • Not feel like eating
• Get headaches or stomach aches • Have trouble sleeping
Here are three important things to remember if you’re being bullied. First, always talk to a trusted adult who makes you feel safe—they will listen to and help you. Second, be sure to look after yourself by doing activities you enjoy. Finally, think about your unique qualities and talents—that will help you feel more confident and brave when you need to stand up for yourself.
