Rongjiang County in Guizhou Province is famous for its exciting “Village Super League (村超)”, which attracts football fans across China every year. However, in June 2025, the lovely place was hit by serious floods.
The floods were caused by days of heavy rain. Rongjiang lies at the meeting point of three rivers. With continuous heavy rain, the river water levels rose quickly. The floods came suddenly and strongly. Many houses were flooded, and streets turned into rivers. People had to leave their homes fast to stay safe.
The local government acted quickly. They organized teams to save people, set up temporary shelters (临时避难所), and handed out food and clean water. Many ordinary people also joined the rescue (营救). Volunteers from all over the country rushed to Rongjiang. Some helped carry sandbags to build flood barriers, and others helped clean up the mud and debris (瓦砾堆) left by the floods. Among them were many football fans who knew Rongjiang because of the Village Super League.
They worked hard from morning to night. A volunteer said, “We are like one big family in China. When one place has trouble, we all come to help.” These warm-hearted actions gave everyone hope that Rongjiang would recover soon.
