Still Life: Vase with Twelve Sunflowers
by Vincent van Gogh
Van Gogh created many sunflower paintings over the years. I like Still Life: Vase with Twelve Sunflowers best.
In this painting, the sunflowers mostly look like little round suns, with flower petals growing from them like

flames of fire. The paint is laid on so thickly that it gives shape to the flowers and fills them with life. Here and there, you can see twisted leaves and branches. About half of the sunflowers in the painting are yellow, and the rest are orange and brown. The background behind the sunflowers is green, and it makes the flowers and vase stand out.
Use the structure "so ... that" to show cause and effect, while also adding emphasis.
I like this painting because in so many ways it is like a ray of yellow sunshine, full of warmth and joy. But there is also sadness in the painting, as some of the flowers are in different stages of life. Some are blooming, some are getting older, and some are nothing but seeds. This reminds me of the cycle of life. In this way, the painting is not only beautiful, but it also makes me think about life.
Use a vivid simile to show warmth, brightness and joy.
Use a parallel structure to create a natural rhythm.
Use "nothing but" to mean "only" and add emphasis.

答案:My favourite artwork
The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh
The Starry Night is a world-famous oil painting created by Vincent van Gogh in 1889, and it is my favourite artwork all the time.
In this painting, the swirling clouds across the dark blue night sky look like soft huge waves rolling slowly. The bright thick paint is laid on so heavily that the whole sky seems to keep moving right in front of my eyes. The glowing stars are like shiny little suns hanging over the quiet small village at the bottom of the painting. The tall cypress tree on the left stretches straight to the sky: some branches are twisting softly, some are waving gently, and some are nothing but dark green silhouettes against the bright moon. The warm yellow light from the village houses makes the whole picture feel warm and peaceful.
I love this painting a lot because it always fills me with hope. Every time I meet difficulties and feel upset, this painting will cheer me up, and it reminds me that even the darkest night can be full of lively light. It not only shows the fantastic beauty of the night, but also teaches me to always find the bright side in my life.
