I'm Emma, a Grade 7 student. I used to be quiet and shy. I had few friends and often stayed alone after school. One day, my Art teacher asked us to draw a picture of our favourite hobby. I didn't know what to draw because I had no hobbies at that time.
My deskmate, Jack, found I was upset. He is a lively boy and his hobby is drawing. He asked me to try drawing with him. At first, I drew very badly and wanted to give up. But Jack was patient. He taught me how to hold a pencil and draw simple lines. He told me drawing is not about being perfect, but about enjoying the process.
With Jack's help, I started to love drawing. Every afternoon after school, we stay in the classroom to draw together. I draw flowers, animals and my family. Drawing makes me happy and helps me become outgoing. Now, I have many friends who also like drawing. We often show our works to each other and learn from each other.
Drawing is more than a hobby for me. It brings me joy and new friends. It also teaches me to be patient and never give up. I'm so glad that I found this wonderful hobby with Jack's help.
