Picasso studied at an art school at an early age. But he was bored with learning all the old things. When he was 18, the young man joined a group of experimental artists(实验艺术家). 2.

In 1901, a close friend of Picasso's died. The artist was very sad. He started to paint scenes of death and sadness in blue tones(色调). This part of his life is known as his Blue
Period.

He painted many happy scenes in warm colours, such as pink and orange. Later, Picasso worked with artist Georges Braque to create cubism(立体主义). 4.

They then put them back together in a "strange" way.
In 1937, Picasso created Guernica. This great cubist painting shows the town of Guernica after it was bombed during the Spanish Civil War. After that, Picasso went on to create new art styles all the way up into his nineties. Isn't that amazing?
