The 139th China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair(广交会), opened in Guangzhou on 15 April 2026. It is a great symbol of China's opening-up and foreign trade. This year's fair has reached a record scale. The total exhibition area is 1.55 million square metres, with more than 32,000 companies taking part. Over 210,000 global buyers have registered, 20 per cent higher than last year.
The fair shows plenty of new and high-quality products, such as new energy cars, intelligent equipment(智能装备), and consumer drones(消费级无人机). It also adds nine new exhibition areas to follow market changes. Many Chinese specialized and sophisticated enterprises(专精特新企业) show their latest inventions which attract buyers from all over the world.
The Canton Fair is more than a trade show. It boosts(推动) China's foreign trade and builds bridges for world cooperation. In the first three months of 2026, China's foreign trade reached 11.84 trillion yuan, growing 15 per cent year on year. The fair clearly shows the strong resilience(韧性) of Chinese economy. As a student, I feel proud of our country's progress and believe it will have an even better future.
