Every year in England, there is a special festival. People dress up in period clothes (时代服装) and have balls (舞会). This is the Jane Austen Festival.

In 2018, the festival focused on the 205th anniversary of her book Pride and Prejudice.
Born in Steventon, England, in 1775, Austen was famous for her humorous words
and clever ideas. Many of her novels portray women’s marriage choices and social limits in England around the turn of the 19th century. Austen always held that a woman should marry for love, not for money or social status.
