七、阅读短文,回答问题
Daniel Kish has been completely blind ever since he was just a baby, but that hasn't stopped him from living a very active life, which includes riding a bicycle or hiking alone in the mountains. To do this, he has perfected a form of echolocation (回声定位), which is similar to the way bats see in the dark.
Most people would think a blind person was sure to live a life of limitation (限制). But Daniel refused to be defined (定义) by his blindness. As a child, he began making clicking sounds with his tongue (舌头) and listening to the echoes that came back from objects. He was teaching himself human echolocation. This ability allows him to "see" the shapes, distances and even textures of the things around him, much like a bat or a dolphin.
Through years of practice, Daniel mastered this skill. He can now find his way around unfamiliar cities, hike in the wild, and even ride a bicycle through busy streets. His ears have become his eyes. He earned two master's degrees and became an expert in helping blind people get around.
Driven by a wish to help others, Daniel founded an organization called "World Access for the Blind" in 2000. Through this organization, he and his team teach his echolocation technique, which he calls "FlashSonar". Over 10,000 students in nearly 40 countries around the world have taken classes from this real-life "Batman". He gives them the tools to break through the barriers (障碍) of their disability and live more independent (独立的), exciting lives.
