Narrator (旁白): Today, we are going to perform a play in total darkness. In our play, David is blind and Cassandra is wearing eye patches (眼罩) for a day to experience the life of the blind people.
Scene 1 On a busy street
Cassandra: David? David...Ump! I've bumped into a rubbish bin.
David: Follow my voice.
Cassandra: There are too many cars! Isn't it dangerous? What if I get hurt?
David: Relax. We're going to listen for the signal (信号). It's a chirping (鸟叫) noise. Do you hear it? There's one at every zebra crossing. It tells blind people when it's safe to cross. Let's go!
Scene 2 In the supermarket
David: When we're blind, we mainly depend on three senses: smell, touch and hearing.
Cassandra: Wow, I'm starting to notice sounds I didn't notice before. This is so amazing!
David: Yeah! Today I'm buying some vegetables and some tinned tuna (罐装金枪鱼). So, guess what kind of vegetable we are close to?
Cassandra: I can tell I'm very close to the onions because I can smell them. Am I right?
David: Yes! You're so clever. Let's get some onions. Now let's go and find the tuna.
Cassandra: But there are too many kinds of tinned food. How will we know which ones are tuna?
David: There are always people around to help out. Let's go.
